GitHub Engineering used GitHub Agentic Workflows to automate cross-repo documentation, reducing the reverse-engineering tax. They created a workflow that generates a draft in the docs repo based on a pull request in the product repo, ensuring security and accuracy. This resulted in 82 feature-docs pull requests merged at a median of 44.8 hours, with 96% of pull requests reviewed by the engineer who shipped the feature.
